Massive Wrist Computer, The Seiko UC-2000
Thank goodness for innovation, look how far we’ve come in 24 years. Seiko’s UC-2000, also known as the Wrist Information System, was the shat back in 1984. Nowadays nerds can hide their geek with less obvious accessories… like the iPhone. Check it out:

The UC-2000 was released in 1984 with rave reviews and even today the watch continues to sell for over $500 on eBay.

Here is the original owners manual if you lost yours. Pretty fancy.

Each character was 5×7 pixels. There were 4 lines of text with 10 columns each.
That makes the effective resolution 50×28.

You daft bugger - you didn’t wear the whole thing on your wrist - just the watch part, which could be removed and docked to the keyboard.

The iPhone is lame, and I’m not a fan of tiny keyboards. I’ve always wished I could have a tiny laptop / cell-phone unholy love child on my arm.

I will call it retro geeky watch. Funny thing to have though.

Cool. Retro. I want one. It’ll be more of a party talking point than an iPhone.

Got one of these… but with an extra thingy not shown on the picture. A larger “dock” with a tiny printer and stuffs!

I used to have one of those! Don’t remember it being a hit with the ladies though…

The problem was not the keyboard - the problem was the 12volt car battery that you had to carry to power it!

I’m shocked my dad didn’t have one of these. He always had a watch with a calculator and contacts.
